PopXiriaPop, our small festival, was originally started with the idea of being a small financial support for the handball team Asociación Deportiva Xiria. Seeing as it has worked, the organisers, being big fans of Rock & Roll music in general and particularly Pop, decided to take steps towards improving the festival.

In the beginning, during the first few editions, specifically until the 7th edition, it was celebrated over one day with two or three music groups. Since the 5th edition the level of the groups has risen considerably. Last year in 2005 (the 8th edition) we decided to increase the celebration to two days. And not only did we have a good level of national music groups but also we managed to get some international groups (The Waistcoats, from Holland & Cosmic Rough Riders from Scotland).

In 2006 we were graced with the presence of two ex-Flamin' Groovies, Roy Loney (and The Longshots) and Chris Wilson (and The Groovin' Flames). Both played together on the PopXiriaPop stage some Flamin' Groovies themes. We also had in this ninth edition some big spanish bands like The Charades, Big City, MEU, Burgas Beat, Los High Sierras and Annie Hall.

We're already setting up our tenth festival anniversary. It will take place around September 2007.
